Ugo Udogu is an amiable lawyer with a reputation for providing effective solutions to complex legal issues. He possesses sound judgment, excellent analytical skills and strong verbal and written communication skills.
Mr Udogu articled with Ontario Ministry of the Attorney General; Civil Law Division – Ministry of Government & Consumer Services (“MGCS”). While at MGCS, he extensively researched, reviewed and authored legal opinions and memoranda on issues arising from legislations administered by MGCS including Business Corporations Act, Condominium Act, Consumer Protection Act, Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act.
Mr. Udogu also had a brief stint at the Ontario Ministry of Labour where he was actively involved in a major consumer protection prosecution at the Licensing Appeal Tribunal. He also assisted with the prosecution of cases under the provincial Occupational Health & Safety Act and Employment Standards Act respectively.
Mr. Udogu has had independent carriage of legal files and generally exhibited excellent client relationship management skills. He has also drafted, reviewed and negotiated complex legal documents on behalf of clients in multiple transactions and been available to offer legal services to clients on short notice.
Mr. Udogu is a member of Ontario bar and fully licensed to practice law by the Law Society of Upper Canada. Mr. Udogu is also a member of the Nigerian bar – a common law jurisdiction. His legal education criss-crosses Nigeria and Canada. Mr. Udogu holds a Master’s Degree, specializing in International Business Law from the Faculty of Law, University of Toronto.
